All-Star Greyhounds is a wonderful organization that finds responsible and loving homes for retired racing greyhounds. All-star Greyhounds holds “Meet and Greets” to help educate the Fort Wane, Indiana community about greyhounds and what wonderful pets they make. These events are also a great opportunity to meet the current adoptables! They have Meet and Greets in Fort Wayne, Lafayette, and South Bend.
During the July Three Rivers Festival they host an event called “Greyhounds in the Park”. At this event, all greyhound owners and lovers come and visit(with their sweet greyhounds) and also raise funds to support the cause!
During this event there were lots of games and support options.
Nail trims for donation, raffle tickets purchased for donation and poop squares….
The Contest was really fun! There was Longest and Shortest Tail, Tallest and Shortest, Greyest muzzle, Oldest and Youngest, Best Trick and more! The crowd gathered with their fur-kids waiting to “show them off”.
This fur-baby was so vocal! I just LOVE to hear them “talk”!
The raffle is a very exciting part of this event! Many local businesses, pet and otherwise, donate goods, services and gift certificates to this event. Proceeds from the purchase of the raffle tickets go to All-Star Greyhounds! I won a restaurant gift certificate AND was also supporting All-Star because of my raffle tickets purchased! WIN WIN! Yippee!

The owners and fosters of these gentle creatures are some of the neatest people I have met! The Greyhound breed is so gentle, calm and really does get along well with others(dogs and people) and let me tell you… these people are just the same – kind and gentle-spirited! Many of the people I met at this event not only own a greyhound or two but also foster – what a wonderful organization and group of people!
