I met Ruby and her human Jessica this summer at a pet friendly event – I photographed them for a mini session to benefit our local pet food pantry – although we only had a short amount of time to meet and chat I knew that these two were special and had a very special and sweet bond! I feel so honored that I had the opportunity to photograph sweet Ruby and her mom Jessica!
Jessica and Ruby are best friends and their bond is evident – they take care of each other! There is something to be said about those who adopt older dogs – these dogs sometimes get overlooked by most adopters, but let me tell you there are so many reasons why older dogs are the best dogs to adopt – BUT the biggest reason is you are giving these fur-balls the last days, weeks or years of their life to be lived out in a loving home instead of a shelter! This is my favorite image of the two of them – just beautiful – the both of them smiling!
When I saw this “field” of marigold flowers I knew Ruby’s sweet face would just shine among them!
It is true – Jessica and Ruby were so lucky to find each other. I hope Ruby’s sweet mug has made you smile and remind you the power of adopting a senior dog!
