Wow, what a night… what a night of good food, great company and amazing talent! Most importantly, funds have been raised to provide for our furry friends in need! Misty, of Paw’s N Claw’s, came up with this amazing idea for a fundraiser to benefit the local Allen County SPCA. Last year was the first year for this event(I was unable to attend because I just gave birth to our little girl), I heard that the event was spectacular and the turn-out was amazing! Thankfully this year I was able to attend and photograph this grand show! Several local groomers showed-off their skills by styling their “models” and walking down the runway in style! This year the event was held at Hotel Fort Wayne, in the Marquis room. The room was grand and the mood was set with beautiful lighting!
Along with several sponsors(Kaleidoscope Floors, A Party Apart, Flying Colors and several Vets – just to name a few), many local businesses(Vera Bradley and Debrand – just to name a few) donated an item or gift certificate to the silent auction! It just amazes me when our local community comes together to support such a wonderful cause!
All the funds raised go towards the “Angel Fund”, this fund is a special medical account to pay for major medical expenses for the shelter pets. The “Angel Fund Boards” were another way to raise funds and before the night was over both boards were cleaned off! Every time someone donated during the night, the donator got to ring a big bell and everyone cheered and celebrated when this occurred!
Many seats were saved for “VIPs”, they got the preferred seating along the runway! They also received a goodie/thank you bag 🙂
It is obvious that Jessica is very passionate about her job and that it is more than “a job” to her at the SPCA. She has a heart of gold and is doing so much good for so many Fort Wayne pets and families!
Jessica Henry and Krista Miller(of 21alive news) were the emcees for the night. They did a wonderful job and make a great team for Pawject Runway!
Before(and during) the runway show, there were yummy looking hors d oeuvres and some sweet treats for the attendees. It was also a great time for attendees to visit with fellow animal lovers from our community!
Let the show begin! These pooches loved walking down the runway – they knew they were lookin’ good!
And of course, the event wouldn’t be complete without the runway being graced by several adoptable dogs! I just love that they included some of the most lovable pooches on the runway!
BIG THANKS to the staff, volunteers, donators and attendees of this event. We can be the voice for those who don’t have a voice! I am not sure of the final numbers for this year’s event, but I am guessing the total donation raised was a big one! 🙂
If you were unable to attend this year, I encourage you to make a donation this year and then plan to attend next year! It will be a great time for a great cause!
